r <br />MAY 2 4 1994 Bou 9 2 Pmu, 479 <br />Commissioner Adams inquired about the requirement for a boat _ <br />slip for the Sheriff's Department, and Director Boling explained <br />that back since 1988 the Sheriff's slip has always been part of the <br />discussions regarding the marina. <br />Commissioner Macht suggested the deletion of the extra slip <br />for the Sheriff, but Director Boling explained that the slip is a <br />condition of approval. <br />Chairman Tippin opened the Public Hearing and asked if anyone <br />wished to be heard in this matter. <br />Bruce Barkett, attorney representing the applicant, stated <br />that his client does not object to the slip for the Sheriff. <br />There being no others who wished to be heard, the Chairman <br />closed the Public Hearing. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, that the Board approve the <br />Substantial Deviation request to add 200 boat slips <br />to the Grand Harbor Marina. <br />Under discussion, Commissioner Macht felt that if the owner - <br />wants security, then he can pay for his own. <br />Commissioner Adams preferred that the Sheriff's boat slip be <br />deleted from the conditions of approval, but she would go along <br />with deleting the $2,500 in cash or fuel for the operation of the <br />patrol boat. <br />COMMISSIONER BIRD AGREED TO AMEND HIS _MOTION TO <br />DELETE THE $2,500 PROVISION, BUT WANTED TO RETAIN <br />THE PROVISION FOR THE SHERIFF'S BOAT SLIP. <br />COMMISSIONER EGGERT WITHDREW HER SECOND, AND COMMISSIONER <br />BIRD'S AMENDED MOTION DIED FOR A LACK OF A SECOND. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, on a 4-1 vote (Commissioner Bird <br />dissenting), adopted Resolution 94-67, approving a <br />Substantial Deviation request and amending the D.O. <br />for the Grand Harbor Development of Regional Impact <br />(DRI), with the deletion of, the provision for <br />Sheriff's boat slip and $2,500 in cash or fuel for <br />operation of the patrol boat. <br />34 <br />
