The County Administrator's Office received a letter dated March 17, 1994 from FDCA <br />stating that Indian River County.has been allocated $130,141 in federal grant funds for FY <br />1994/95, $11,567 less than last year, to fund local anti-drug abuse programs. The county will <br />provide the 25% matching requirement which will bring the total amount available to <br />$173,521. The letter also requested the Board to serve as the coordinating unit of <br />government in applying for the funds. The Board, during its April 5, 1994 regular meeting, <br />accepted the invitation to serve as the coordinating unit of government and named <br />Joseph A. Baird, Office of Management and Budget, Director, as the contact person. <br />CURRENT <br />After soliciting for new grant proposals and evaluating the seven (7) proposals that were <br />received totaling $300,896.14, the Substance Abuse Advisory Council is recommending that. <br />the Board approve the following five (5) anti-drug abuse programs and their corresponding <br />funding levels for FY 1994/95: <br />'Indicates a continuation from the previous fiscal year. <br />State share totals $130,141, County share totals $43,380, and the grand total of all five <br />projects is $173,521.. If a project cannot be implemented due to the budget cuts, then the <br />money allocated for. the project will be redistributed to other projects already listed.
