ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously approved <br />staff 1-s recommendation to pay Calmes & Pierce Inc. <br />$9,010.50 for cost of Option 3 with the stipulation <br />that no additional claims or charges be brought to <br />the county for well drilling or modifications to the <br />irrigation system. Funding is from Account 101-156- <br />541-067.43. <br />FULL TIME RESIDENT INSPECTION SERVICES - OSLO ROAD & OLD DIXIE HAY. <br />ROAD IMPROVEMENTS <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated June 13, 1994: <br />TO: James E. Thompson, P.E. <br />CaCapital Projects Manager� <br />P j <br />SUBJECT: Full Time Resident Inspection Services for <br />Oslo Road and Old Dixie Highway Roadway Improvements <br />DATE: June 13, 1994 FILE: OsloInsp.agn <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Full time resident inspection services on Indian River Boulevard <br />Phase IV, were provided by a retired FDOT inspector, William <br />Howard. Mr. Howard's services were contracted through Manpower <br />Temporary Services at a cost of $22.69/hr., which included all <br />social security, worker's compensation, unemployment insurance, <br />taxes, and agency fees. <br />Contracting inspection services through an employment agency on <br />Phase IV construction resulted in a substantial savings to the <br />County. Full time resident inspection services on Phase III were <br />contracted through the Consulting firm at a cost of $48/hr.. <br />The Public Works Department was very satisfied with Mr. Howard's <br />services and would like to payroll him, through a temporary <br />services agency, for the construction of impovementsat Oslo Road <br />and Old Dixie Highway.
