Duncan Theater <br />4'- 00 Congress Avenue _ <br />Board of County Commission Chambers <br />2nd Floor, Old Courthouse <br />2120 21&in Street <br />OPPOSITION TO CASINO GAMBLING IN FLORIDA <br />The Board reviewed the following: <br />FDLE opposes casinos. . . . The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has published "The <br />Question of Casinos in Florida - Increased Crime: 1s It Worth the Gamble?" This report studies the impact <br />casinos have had on crime in other states. As a result of this study, the FDLE has taken a position to oppose <br />any form of legalized casino gambling in Florida. For a copy of this free report contact the FDLE at 904/488- <br />8771. Counties that have taken a stand either for or against casinos are asked to contact FAC before Oct. 1. <br />The FAC Board of Directors may consider taking a position on this -issue in early October. (Grace) / <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board -unanimously agreed to <br />support the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's <br />opposition of casinos, and authorized a letter of <br />support over the Chairman's signature. _ <br />September 20, 1994 64 <br />R. <br />
