Blood borne pathogens are defined as infectious diseases that thrive in the human blood stream. These <br />diseases typically include HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and hemorrhagic fevers such as Ebola and the Zika <br />virus. It is the policy of Johnson — Davis Inc. that no employee shall be exposed to potential blood borne <br />pathogens materials without taking proper precautions. All employees of the company will comply with <br />the provisions of the control plan, the purpose of which is to provide direction to Johnson — Davis Inc. <br />employees regarding the safety precautions that should be exercised when dealing with potentially <br />infectious materials. <br />■ Employer Responsibilities —Johnson —Davis Inc. is responsible for training its employees on the. <br />dangers of contact with potentially infectious materials, and: <br />o Making an exposure potential determination based on the work tasks that we perform <br />o Instituting rules and equipment controls to reduce exposure to potentially infectious <br />materials <br />o Develop a PPE guide based on first aid, CPR and major job tasks <br />o Ensure that any employee who reasonably believes that they may have been exposed to <br />potentially infectious materials receives testing to determine the effects of their <br />exposure and preventative treatment if necessary <br />• Employee Responsibilities — Employees of Johnson — Davis Inc. have the following <br />responsibilities in regard to the blood borne pathogen control program: <br />o Attend any required training on the provisions of the program <br />o Use established rules and equipment controls to reduce potential exposure to infectious <br />materials <br />o Use PPE provided by the company to prevent exposure <br />o Come forward and report any exposure to blood containing materials other than their <br />own during the course of work ' <br />The table on the following page describes a typical Johnson — Davis blood borne pathogen exposure <br />determination based on task and job description. This should be used as a guide only. Potential <br />exposure may be increased dependent on actual job description, cross —functionality or combination of <br />two or more of the tasks described in the table. <br />18 <br />
