City of Vero Beach Sewer Service Area <br />The City of Vero Beach sewer service territory encompasses the City of Vero Beach, most of the <br />Town of Indian River Shores (one multiple -family residential complex is excluded), and the <br />portion of the barrier island south of the City of Vero Beach. In addition, it serves some of the <br />unincorporated county area around the city. <br />The Vero Beach Wastewater Treatment Plant has a design capacity of 4,500,000 GPD. The <br />method of treatment consists of complete mix activated sludge, followed by water reclamation <br />processes that include tertiary filtration and high level disinfection. Most effluent from this plant <br />is used for irrigation by golf courses and residential developments.
