PROPOSED REVISION TO <br />FUTURE LAND USE ELEMENT POLICY 17.5 <br />OBJECTIVE 17: COASTAL POPULATION <br />Through 2030, the county will have no increase in land use designation density or intensity <br />within the Coastal High Hazard Area. <br />Policy 17.1: The county shall not approve plan amendments that increase the residential density <br />or land use intensity within the Coastal High Hazard Area. <br />Policy 17.2: The county shall support programs of land acquisition on the barrier island for natural <br />resource preservation, recreation or both. <br />Policy 17.3: The county shall limit densities in the coastal high hazard area to ensure timely <br />evacuation of the barrier island. <br />Policy 17.4: The county shall prohibit new development of adult congregate living facilities, <br />nursing homes, homes for the aged, total care facilities, and similar developments within the <br />Coastal High Hazard Area. <br />Polio: The county hereby adopts the Coastal High Hazard Area boundary depicted on the <br />county's Future Land Use Map. As set forth in Coastal Management Element Policy 15.5, the Coastal <br />High Hazard Area is designated as an Adaptation Action Area (AAA) as defined in the Coastal <br />Management Element, subject to the policies of this Objective 17 and of Coastal Management <br />Element Objective 15 which include density and land use restrictions. <br />Appendix B <br />C:\Users\roland\Desktop\FLUE Policy 17.5 sea level rise revision - Attach 5.docx <br />
