Focus Area Addressed: Childcare/Child Health & Education <br />Taxonomy Number: PS -9800.9900 Youth Enrichment Program <br />Program Description: The After School Education Program (ASEP) is an after school <br />program for children in grades K-12. This program offers educational assistance <br />through tutoring, homework assistance, personal growth and development, cultural, <br />social and recreational activities. <br />Collaboration: School District of Indian River County, Moonshot Moment/The Learning <br />Alliance, Indian River County Extension Program, Indian River County Library System, <br />Riverside Children's Theatre, Youth Guidance, Vero Beach Museum of Art. <br />Comment/2010 Monitoring: N/A <br />GOALS/OUTCOMES REPORT (10/1/16 — 9/30/17) <br />Increase academic performance as measured by report cards, progress <br />reports and/or pre/post tests for 82% of students attending a minimum of <br />three nine -weeks of the 2016-17 school year. <br />Goal met — A review of report cards for the 2016-17 school year shows that <br />94% of students improved their grades in one or more subject areas. The <br />subject areas being reviewed are English, Math and/or Science. <br />2. 93% of students will complete their homework as measured by <br />homework completion logs. <br />Goal met — Currently, 90% of students are completing their homework prior to <br />leaving the Center. <br />3. 92% of students enrolled for at least three nine -weeks of the 2016-17 <br />school year will not be suspended or expelled from school as reported <br />by self -reports and/or school incidence reports. <br />Goal met — 98% of students enrolled for at least three nine -weeks were not <br />suspended or expelled from school. Two of the students suspended have on- <br />going behavioral issues and come from extremely dysfunctional homes. <br />-31- <br />44 <br />
