RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 039 <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING <br />THE PROPER COUNTY OFFICIALS TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION IN <br />SUPPORT OF THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORATION TO <br />MANAGE, CONSTRUCT, AND DELIVER A BRIDGE OVER INDIAN <br />RIVER FARMS WATER CONTROL DISTRICT LATERAL "C" CANAL AT <br />CR-612/8TH STREET & 74TH AVENUE, TWO LANE EXISTING ROADWAY <br />IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORATION PROGRAM BULLETIN 15-03 IN COMPLIANCE WITH <br />THE POLICY FOR PROJECTS NOT ON A ROADWAY WITHIN THE <br />STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM WITHIN THE LOCAL AGENCY'S RIGHT- <br />OF-WAY/LOCAL JURISDICTION AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) conducted a study <br />of the Strategic Intermodal System (SIS) within FDOT District 4; and <br />WHEREAS, FDOT is authorized by Florida Statutes and Federal funding <br />provisions to undertake projects within the geographical limits of Indian River County; and <br />WHEREAS, those improvements are being managed by the FDOT more <br />particularly described as Financial Management No. 437717-1, which involves the design <br />and construction of the bridge over Lateral "C" canal, reconstruction of existing roadways <br />and other related improvements. <br />WHEREAS, the County is in support of the improvements to 8th Street/CR 612 and <br />74th Avenue, providing interconnection between communities; and <br />WHEREAS, a resolution to endorse FDOT's delivery of said Project within the local <br />agency's right of way/local jurisdiction is required. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that <br />1. That the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida hereby <br />supports the Florida Department of Transportation to manage, construct and deliver, <br />Financial Management No. 437717-1 that involves the replacement of an existing bridge <br />structure and the reconstruction of the existing roadway on both ends of the reconstructed <br />new bridge. <br />2. The County Attorney shall review and approve as to form and legal sufficiency all <br />documents prior to their execution by the proper County officials. <br />3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon final passage. <br />Page 1 <br />
