TrafficCoat: Durable wear coating to provide additional abrasion resistance and color <br />selection. <br />K. UCC - United Cleaning Concentrate: Non -Toxic cleaner for use on existing elastomeric roof . <br />coatings metal surfaces, concrete and masonry substrates, as well as uncoated roof, deck <br />and wall surfaces. <br />L. GAF Epoxy Primer: . Use to penetrate and seal porous substrates and to improve the <br />adhesion of high performance topcoats. <br />M. FlexSeal Sealant: Use as a leveler at. existing roof surfaces requiring build-up for positive <br />slope. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.1 EXAMINATION <br />A. When applying a Liquid -Applied Roofing System as a recover over an existing roofing system, <br />GAF requires investigation of moisture in the existing system through various Moisture Survey. <br />methods. See Substrate Preparation Guide for Liquid Applied Roofing Systems for <br />requirements. <br />B. Verify that substrate surfaces are durable, free of frozen matter, dampness, loose particles, <br />cracks, pits, projections, and/or foreign matter detrimental to adhesion or application of <br />waterproofing system. <br />C. Verify that substrate surfaces are smooth and not detrimental to full contact bond of <br />waterproofing materials. Perform test patches to verify substrate suitability to receive the <br />HydroStop PremiumCoat System. Field test methods are outlined in the GAF Substrate <br />Preparation Guide for Liquid -Applied Roofing Systems. <br />D. Verify items that penetrate surfaces to receive waterproofing are securely installed and <br />suitably flashed. <br />E. Verify that substrate areas are adequately supported and firmly fastened in place. <br />F. Verify that roof deck has a minimum slope of '/4:12. <br />G. Verify that roof does not have areas of ponding water. <br />H. Verify that all contiguous walls are properly waterproofed. <br />3.2 PREPARATION <br />A. Protect adjacent surfaces not designated to receive waterproofing. <br />B. Inspect and make all necessary repairs to substrate. Remove and replace wet substrates and <br />insulation, if applicable. <br />
