1. Program Requirements: <br />31 - <br />IF H*� Mai Mill! <br />Each proposal must include the following information describing how the project <br />satisfies eligibility requirements listed on page 1. <br />A. Provide the title and a detailed description of the public infrastructure <br />improvements. <br />The title of the project is the Expansion of the Technical Center for Career and <br />Adult Eduction. The Technical Center is a public, non-profit, post -secondary <br />institution. The infrastructure improvements will include the relocation of the <br />school and the addition of two classroom buildings. One building will house <br />industrial workforce training programs to include Welding and Building <br />Construction Technologies. The other building will house workforce training <br />programs Surgical Technology, Network Support Services, and Early Childhood <br />Education. <br />B. Is this infrastructure owned by the public? <br />%f Yes 0 No <br />C. Is this infrastructure for public use or does it predominately benefit the public? <br />./ Yes D No <br />D. Will the public infrastructure improvements be for the exclusive benefit of any single <br />company, corporation or business entity? <br />0 Yes No <br />E. Provide a detailed explanation of how the public infrastructure improvements will <br />connect to a broader economic development vision for the community and benefit <br />additional current or future businesses. <br />The expansion of the Technical Center will provide needed workforce training <br />programs in Indian River County. Currently, the Technical Center is the only <br />provider of workforce training in the county. The school is limited in its program <br />offerings due to limited space on the campus. As part of the infrastructure project, <br />the Technical Center will relocate <br />to the Alternative Center for Education which is located in Gifford. The relocation <br />and addition of classroom buildings and labs will allow for expansion of <br />programs which include dual enrollment programs for high school students. <br />This project will help to provide a local skilled workforce meeting the needs of <br />local businesses, create new career pathways for high school students, and <br />help the underemployed obtain the skills necessary to earn a living wage.
