Brown, County Administrator <br />Mike Smykowski, Director, Office of Management and Budget <br />FROM: Jennifer Hyde, Purchasing Manager <br />SUBJECT: Final Ranking of Contractors and Recommendation of Award of RFP 2018030 <br />—South Oslo Conservation Area Boardwalk Construction <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On behalf of the Parks Division, Requests for Proposals (RFPs) were solicited for final design and <br />construction of two boardwalks at the conservation area, located on the south side of Oslo Road, <br />approximately 0.25 miles east of the intersection of Oslo Road and US 1. The first boardwalk is <br />approximately 135 feet in length, and traverses a sparsely canopied mixed hardwood wetland. The <br />second boardwalk will replace a dilapidated crossing of an FDOT ditch, and is approximately 15 <br />feet in length. The County has obtained a General Permit for construction from the St. Johns <br />Water Management District. <br />RFP RESULTS: <br />Advertising Date: January 14, 2018 <br />RFP Opening Date: February 23, 2018 <br />DemandStar Broadcast to: 533 Subscribers <br />RFP Documents Requested by: 32 Firms <br />Replies: 2 Firms <br />ANALYSIS: <br />A selection committee comprised of Beth Powell, Conservation Lands Manager, William Johnson, <br />P.E., Roadway Production Manager, and Steven Hitt, Senior Environmental Planner independently <br />evaluated and scored the received proposals in accordance with the Purchasing Manual. These <br />scores were compiled by the committee and an overall initial ranking of firms developed. The <br />committee determined no interviews were necessary and declared the initial ranking as final: <br />Proposing Firm Location <br />1. Summerlin's Marine Construction Fort Pierce <br />2.
