Szpyrka P.E., Public Works Director <br />FROM: Andy Sobczak, Infrastructure Project Manager <br />SUBJECT: Work Order No. 5, REI Engineers, Inc. — Design and Replacement of Indian <br />River County Hobart Water Treatment Facility Roof <br />DATE: April 20, 2018 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On April 18, 2014, the Board of County Commissioners approved a Continuing Contract Agreement <br />with REI Engineers, Inc. to perform roofing consultation services to include evaluations of existing <br />roofing conditions, design solutions for remedial work, design solutions for roof replacement, <br />preparation of design documents, and project management. On February 6, 2018, the Board of <br />County Commissioners approved an Extension to the Continuing Contract for an additional 3 -years. <br />On January 16, 2018, REI Engineers, Inc. submitted a proposal for the design, assistance in bidding, <br />and construction administration for the replacement of the roof at the County's Hobart Water <br />Treatment Facility (NROWTF). <br />FUNDING <br />Funding for the project is included and budgeted in Utilities/Operating Fund/Replacement and <br />Renewal account for NROWTF Roof Replacement — acct#47123536-044699-18506. Operating <br />funds are derived from water and sewer sales. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve Work Order #5 for REI <br />Engineers, Inc. to design, assist in bidding, and perform construction administration services for the <br />replacement of the existing roof at the Hobart Water Treatment Facility, and authorize the Chairman <br />to execute Work Order #5 in the lump sum amount of $23,050.00. <br />FAPubhc Works\ENGINEERING DIVISION PROJECTS\1802 IRC North RO Plant Roof Replacement\I-Admin\Agenda Items\BCC\IRC-1802 North RO Plant Roof Replacement WO 5 Staff <br />Report.doc <br />172 <br />
