pc.3..3.
E E Solar
• NEW SOLAR MANDATE
•
01 May 2018 / 9:00 am / building A
AGENDA
New homes will now require solar panels in Indian River County
Under the rules, new residential construction would require 10 electric generating solar panels to be
installed per 1,000 square feet of sunlit roof area with firefighter walk way offsets of 16in around perimeter
of the array, or 3.3kw per 2,000 square feet of living space, whichever is less. If the house is built under
existing trees, the shade may exempt it.
NOTES
• Solar Photovoltaic simulates trees through the reduction of carbon dioxide.
• Solar mandate will offset the destruction of local ecosystems and pollution.
Your Annual Emissions
This is an estimate of the pounds of air pollutants caused by the electricity you use in your home in
one year. Note: Your annual emissions include:
23 pounds of nitrogen oxides
31 pounds of sulfur dioxide
40,631 pounds of carbon dioxide
ACTION ITEMS
. 1. Vote to approve solar mandate on new construction similar to legislation already passed in Miami.
2. Historically preserve land use to protect local ecosystems.
3. Ban all solar leasing county wide.
