RESOLUTION NO. 2018- <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, REPLACING THE POSITION OF <br />REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE LOCAL CITRUS <br />INDUSTRY WITH A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE <br />LOCAL AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY ON THE <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL. <br />WHEREAS, by Resolution 93-175, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian <br />River County, Florida (the "Board"), created an Economic Development Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board restructured the Economic Development Council by <br />approving Resolution 2003-127, which established 19 members on the Economic <br />Development Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board added three additional members to the Economic <br />Development Council to provide representation for the Town of Indian River Shores, <br />the Town of Orchid and the Work Force Development Board by approving Resolution <br />2008-003, thus establishing the Economic Development Council with 22 members; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board replaced the member from the Manufacturing Task Force, <br />which was disbanded, with a member from the County's manufacturing industry to the <br />Economic Development Council by approving Resolution 2008-091, thus establishing <br />and maintaining the Economic Development Council with 22 members; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board replaced the representative from the various local civic <br />organizations with a member from Indian River State College by approving Resolution <br />2012-054, thus establishing and maintaining the Economic Development Council with <br />22 members; and <br />WHEREAS, replacing the position of representative from the local citrus industry <br />position with a representative from the local agricultural industry will allow for a broader <br />representation on the Economic Development Council from the agricultural community <br />as a whole; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the will of the Board to replace the local citrus industry <br />representative position with a representative from the local agriculture industry; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />F:\Attorney\Linda\GENERAL\Resolutions & Ordinances\Ordinances\resolution of economic development revision 2018.doc <br />181 <br />
