Provide a brief summary of your organization, including areas of expertise, accomplishments and population served. <br />The health department continues to reach all parts of the county for environmental health, communicable disease control, <br />community health education, outreach, comprehensive school health programs in the five county schools, basic school <br />health in the remaining schools, and the WIC and nutrition program. The health department's communicable disease and <br />epidemiology team responded to a number of outbreaks, including measles, norovirus, and influenza. We also mobilized a <br />response for Zika virus. <br />We work in partnership with multiple agencies to maximize resources. Domestic security, preparedness, and response <br />activities have permeated every aspect of public health, never more obvious than the health department's response to the <br />hurricanes. Primary Care Visits for all sites totaled 29,877 in 2016/2017. For 2017/2018, we are projecting a reduction of <br />7,290 visits with the current budget scenario. <br />For our active primary care patients, 64% of our clients are uninsured (Vero site, October 2017 -March 2018), 82%fall below <br />150% of Federal Poverty Guidelines. There are 91% that are less than 200% of Federal Poverty. <br />3. Briefly list any certifications and/or accreditations obtained by your agency. <br />The health department was accredited on March 8th, 2016 as part of the Florida Department of Health by the Public Health <br />Accreditation Board. <br />99 <br />
