Does your Board approve the annual budget and review regular financial reports of the operating <br />ouaget ana capital runcds-� How otten is this review conducted? <br />Yes, the Board approves an annual budget prior to the end of the fiscal year. Operating budgets and <br />capital funds are reviewed monthly. A financial audit is conducted 'annually by an independent auditor <br />and an audit report and copy of the agency's 990 are distributed to the Board upon completion. <br />2. Does any outside organization (such as a governmental unit) conduct periodic evaluations of the <br />agency s rnnances, management or programv It yes, list the agencies. <br />Mental Health America- As noted earlier, the MHA is an affiliate of Mental Health America which is a <br />national agency. Participation in a re -affiliation process is required at least once every three years. Re- <br />affiliation involves the review of the board of directors, strategic planning, agency bylaws, 990s, and <br />financial audits, as well as clinical programs. In 2017, the Mental Health America Board of Directors <br />approved the re -affiliation of the Mental Health Association in Indian River County for a period of three <br />years. <br />Southeast Florida Behavioral Health Network (SEFBHN)- SEFBHN is the managing entity for the <br />Department of Children and Families (DCF) which monitors our State funded Drop -In Center program <br />annually to ensure compliance with State contract requirements. The managing entity also reviews the <br />Walk -In Center and the entire agency financials as a part of the annual monitoring requirement. <br />Kmetz, Nuttall, Elwell, Graham, PLLC- An annual financial audit is conducted by this firm. <br />The agency is also reviewed annually, financially and clinically, by The United Way and the Indian River <br />County Hospital District. <br />3.
