RESOLUTION NO. 2018- loo <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER <br /> COUNTY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AMENDMENT #1 OF THE HABITAT <br /> CONSERVATION PLAN FOR THE PROTECTION OF SEA TURTLES ON THE <br /> COUNTY'S BEACHES <br /> WHEREAS, Indian River County's beaches are prime nesting sites for sea turtles; and <br /> WHEREAS, due to hurricanes, storms and other causes, critical erosion can occur to the beach, <br /> causing a potential threat to oceanfront property necessitating emergency repairs; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County has an Incidental Take Permit from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to <br /> issue emergency repairs; and <br /> WHEREAS, to issue emergency repairs, guidelines identified in the County's Habitat <br /> Conservation Plan must be followed; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Habitat Conservation Plan shall be amended over the 30-year lifetime of the <br /> Incidental Take Permit with approval from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN <br /> RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board accepts and approves. Amendment #1 of the Habitat <br /> Conservation Plan and directs that a certified copy of this Resolution be provided with the amended <br /> Habitat Conservation Plan when submitted to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for final approval of <br /> the amended Habitat Conservation Plan. <br /> The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner _Adams who moved its adoption. The <br /> motion was seconded by Commissioner Flescher ' and, upon being put to a vote,the vote was as <br /> follows: <br /> Chairman Peter D. O'Bryan AYE <br /> Vice-Chairman Bob Solari AYE <br /> Commissioner Susan Adams AYE <br /> Commissioner Joseph E.
