3.03 <br />5. Provide downspout outlet tubes in downspout locations. Refer to SMACNA <br />Manual Figure 1-33B. Gutter outlet tubes to be tabbed a minimum of 1", set in a <br />full bead of sealant and secured to gutter with a minimum of two rivets per tab. <br />5. Provide primed and painted brackets and spacers as shown in detail drawings. <br />Evenly stagger the placement of brackets and spacers. Spacing shall be 36" on <br />center for both brackets and spacers. <br />7. Spacers shall be riveted to both sides of the gutter only. <br />8. Brackets shall be secured with two stainless steel fasteners to the wood blocking. <br />9. Leading edge of gutter to be a minimum of 1" below the back edge as shown in <br />detail drawing. <br />10. Hang gutters level. <br />11. Metal Edge: Refer to Metal Edge installation indicated above. <br />H. Downspouts: <br />1. Fabricate downspouts in 10' lengths. Refer to SMACNA Architectural Sheet <br />Metal Manual Figure 1-32B. <br />2. Downspouts shall tie into existing below grade storm drainage system or if no <br />below grade system is. applicable downspouts shall kick -out above grade onto <br />concrete splash blocks. Fill in soil to provide slope away from building. <br />3. Downspouts shall be installed at support column locations at all applicable <br />locations. <br />4. Each downspout shall be secured to the structure with two-piece hangers spaced <br />no more than 8' apart with a minimum of two hangers per downspout with a <br />.hanger located within 12" from bottom. Hangers shall be primed and painted to <br />match downspouts. Refer to SMACNA Architectural Sheet Metal Manual <br />Figure 1-35H. <br />5. Downspouts are to be fashioned so as to run back to (at overhangs) and parallel <br />to the support columns/walls. <br />6. Provide discharge elbow at the base of downspout. <br />7. Install splash pans on 18" by 30" walk pads where downspouts discharge onto an <br />adjacent roof area. Splash pan fabrication shall meet SMACNA Figure 1-36. <br />I. Pitch Pan — Lightening Aerials <br />1. Fabricate pitch pan as shown in detail drawings. Refer to SMACNA. <br />2. Size pitch pan minimum 2" larger than the penetration on all sides. Provide a 4" <br />minimum flange and double walls with minimum depth of 4". <br />3. Set flange of pitch pan in full bead of roof cement and strip -in flange of metal <br />edge as specified. <br />4. Strip -in flange of pitch pan as indicated in the Contract Drawings. <br />5. Install 2" wide aluminum tape around all sides of pitch pan extending 1/2" above <br />top edge. <br />6. Fill pitch pan with non -shrink grout to a depth of 2" from the top of the tape. <br />7. Fill pitch pan with pourable sealer to the top of the tape. Slope to shed water. <br />8. Secure pipe enclosure flashing and cap as indicated in detail drawings. <br />9. Clean and solder all seams. <br />CLEANING AND PROTECTION <br />A. All sheet metal work shall be thoroughly cleaned of all asphalt, flux, scrapes and dust. <br />B.
