PROCLAMATTION <br />HONORING COR YSANFORD RICHTER ON HIS RETIREMENT <br />FR OM INDIAN RIVER CO UNTY DEPAR TMENT OF <br />EMERGENCYSER VICES <br />Whereas, Cory Richter began his distinguished career in public service with Indian River <br />County as a Paramedic on January 11,.1993; and, <br />Whereas, he rose steadily through the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) ranks by making <br />Lieutenant in 1994, Captain in 1997, preparing for the future and obtaining his AS Degree in <br />Fire Science in 1999, becoming Ilse EMS Deputy Chief of Quality Assurance in 2001 which, <br />upon consolidation with Fire Rescue in 2006, ensured his easy transition to dual certification <br />resulting in his final promotion to Assistant Chief of the Indian River County Emergency <br />Services Department; and, <br />Whereas, Chief Richter is known in Fire Rescue for being a master mediator and collaborator; <br />he holds numerous prestigious Local and State awards for selflessly investing a tremendous <br />amount of professional and personal time to support his colleagues and bring organizations <br />together; and, <br />Whereas, he is well known on a National level for his work on the Florida EMS Strategic <br />Vision Plan making strides with consistency in communication, standardized gathering of <br />information and simplifying the process through collaboration while achieving zero <br />redundancy, and, <br />Whereas, Cory Richter, Assistant Chief of the Emergency Services Department is retiring on <br />September 28, 2018 after Twenty -Five years of honorable, distinctive and sey7ess service. <br />Throughout his career, his devotion to his profession, his employer, the citizens of Indian <br />River County and his co-workers alike, was always evident, and <br />Now, Therefore, be it proclaimed by the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners, <br />that the Board appreciates Cory Richter's efforts on behalf of the County and wishes to express <br />our deepest gratitude for the twenty-five years of dedicated service he has'given to our citizens <br />and thirty-six years of service to the EMS profession, itself. <br />Be it Further Proclaimed that the Board of County Commissioners, staff and co-workers <br />extend their sincerest wishes for success in all his future endeavors <br />Adopted this 18th Day of September 2018 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIANRIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />4 ' <br />_� Peter D.
