(6i' <br />PROCLAMATION <br />HONORING EDWARD KUYLESKY ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM <br />INDIAN RIVER CO UNTY DEPAR TMENT OF <br />EMERGENCYSERVICES <br />WHEREAS, Edward Kuvlesky began his distinguished career in Emergency Medical <br />Services with Indian River County as a Paramedic on November 17,1989, and, <br />WHEREAS, in little over a decade he achieved Senior Paramedic, then was <br />promoted to Supervisor of Operations, which upon consolidation with IRC Fire Rescue <br />in 2006 became equivalent to an EMS Battalion Chief in which capacity he served <br />until his retirement on September 4, 2018, and, <br />WHEREAS, based upon his experiences as a .first responder, Edward Kuvlesky <br />authored and co-authored multiple books on Pre -Hospital Emergency Care Education <br />as well as patenting inventions that enhanced the EMS profession including the EZ -LZ <br />Helicopter Landing Zone Locator Kit that was distributed throughout the world; and, <br />WHEREAS, Edward Kuvlesky's deep passion for providing the highest quality pre- <br />hospital emergency care has been evident throughout his career file, which is filled <br />with letters of gratitude from tit general public, commendations from supervisors for <br />innovative field work, as well as an appointment by Governor Lawton Chiles to <br />Florida's early EMS Council, and, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAMED BY THE BOARD OF <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, that the Board appreciates Edward Kuvlesky's efforts on behalf of the <br />County and wishes to express our deepest gratitude for the dedicated service he has <br />given to our citizens and the EMS profession for almost 30 years, and, <br />BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the Board of County Commissioners, staff and <br />co-workers extend their sincerest wishes for success in all his future endeavors. <br />Adopted this EleAenth Day of September 2018. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />I <br />I <br />Peter D.
