Davis, P.E., <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: Traffic Signal Maintenance Agreement - City of Sebastian <br />s <br />DATE: November 1, 1994 FILE: COSMAiNT.AGN <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />In September 1983, Indian River County was requested by the City of Sebastian to provide ` <br />maintenance services for the signal located at SR5 (US 1) and Main Street. In the spring of 1987, <br />the City of Sebastian requested that we add a second signal to the maintenance list. <br />At this time, more signals are being added in the municipality and maintenance costs have <br />risen. The past agreement has expired: Therefore, staff is requesting that the chairman be <br />authorized to execute the attached Traffic Signal Maintenance Agreement which has been <br />previously approved -by the Sebastian City Council. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The following alternatives are presented: <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Authorize the Chairman to execute the attached agreement. <br />Alternative No. 2 _ <br />Deny authorization of the contract, continue maintenance of signals without <br />charging for maintenance <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends Alternative No. 1 whereby the Chairman will execute the attached agreement. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously approved <br />the Traffic Signal Maintenance and Repair Agreement <br />with the City of Sebastian and authorized the <br />Chairman to execute the Agreement, as recommended by <br />staff. - <br />AGREEMENT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE <br />OF THE' -CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />34 <br />November 8, 1994 <br />
