This is a. community-based collaboration of CIRCA, the Indian River Land Trust and the School <br />District of Indian River County. The program is supported through grant funding, private donations and in-kind donations. The <br />program includes the design and construction of schoolyard plant nurseries, the propagation and care of native IRL <br />vegetation, monthly in -school and after school visits to partner schools, peer-to-peer mentoring, summer camps, student and <br />community, participation in habitat restoration projects and environmental monitoring. The Living Lagoon provides a dynamic <br />way to engage the community in environmental solutions and provides an excellent platform for hands-on STEAM (Science, <br />Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) educational programming for Indian River County students. <br />The mission of the Living Lagoon Program is to develop a community of Indian River County students and residents <br />dedicated to improved stewardship of our water-based life support systems. <br />
