Some issues <br /> in the building have been addressed as recommended in Amec Foster Wheeler's 2014 <br /> assessment report, and some remain to be completed. Amec Foster Wheeler understands that <br /> IRC is in process of addressing remaining areas in need of repair or remediation. Assessment <br /> methods by ESI were generally observed to be typical of an engineering investigation. <br /> • As mentioned earlier, ESI utilized Mycometer li)and Bactiquant®test methods. While the <br /> technical basis of the Mycometer®method has been evaluated by the U.S. EPA, these tests <br /> are not accepted by the scientific community to be a surrogate for actual traditional analysis of <br /> fungi on surfaces and the interpretation guidelines associated with the Mycometer®have not <br /> been verified by any independent entity. <br /> • Surface moisture levels in all areas evaluated by either IR camera or moisture meter showed <br /> no elevated levels of surface moisture or other indications of active water intrusion. <br /> - Mold growth was observed in three localized areas: <br /> - Small (<1 ft2) area on ceiling tile in middle of Dorm area (IRC-24) <br /> - Wood cabinet under sink in Kitchen (IRC-25) <br /> - Slight SVG observed on ceiling GWB under peeling paint in shower, above shower head <br /> (IRC-26) <br /> Mold growth in each area was present on the surface of indicated building materials and was localized <br /> to relatively small areas.
