Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final November 6, 2018 <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />Resolution establishing the Committee <br />Table of DRPPAC Accomplishments <br />Draft minutes of October 18, 2018 DRPPAC <br />Community Development Director Stan Boling presented the request of the <br />Development Review and Permit Process Advisory Committee (Committee), to <br />hold two additional meetings, which would bring the total number of meetings to <br />12. He used a PowerPoint presentation to outline the additional topics the <br />Committee would like to discuss, and suggested that the extra meetings be held <br />in January and February of 2019. <br />Commissioners O'Bryan and Solari discussed their opposition to one of the <br />Committee's pending discussion items, which pertained to the creation of an <br />ongoing Development Industry Committee. <br />Commissioner Zorc commented on the pre -application process followed in St. <br />Lucie County as a good model. <br />Chairman O'Bryan requested that the Committee members be advised that they <br />will remain under the Sunshine Law for the additional meetings. <br />The following speakers addressed the Board in support of the additional <br />Committee meetings: <br />Deb Robinson, Chairman of the Committee, Vice President of Laurel Homes, <br />stressed the need for a pathway between building industry professionals and the <br />County. <br />Joseph Paladin, President of Black Swan Consulting and Atlantic Coast <br />Development, and Vice Chairman of the Committee, provided input on <br />pre -application meetings. <br />Commissioner Adams spoke to the County's responsibility to facilitate <br />communication between the County and other entities, such as building industry <br />professionals, and to keep them informed of upcoming County business. <br />County Administrator Jason Brown recognized the contributions of the <br />Committee members and supported the additional meetings. <br />A motion was made by Vice Chairman Solari, seconded by Commissioner Zorc, to <br />authorize the Development Review and Permit Process Advisory Committee <br />(Committee) to hold up to two additional meetings to consider the additional <br />topics listed in the staff report and forward final recommendations for future <br />consideration by the Board, with a final sunset date of February 28, 2019 for the <br />Committee.
