SC <br />Consent Agenda <br />Indian River County <br />Interoffice Memorandum <br />Office of Management & Budget <br />To: Members of the Board <br />of County Commissioners <br />From: Kristin Daniels <br />Director, Office of Management & Budget <br />Date: February 1, 2019 <br />Subject: Fourth of July Fireworks Funding <br />Background Information <br />For several years, Indian River County has provided assistance in funding the Fourth of July fireworks <br />displays in Vero Beach and Sebastian. The City of Vero Beach has requested assistance in funding <br />their centennial celebration this year and is asking for an additional $2,500 which brings the total <br />matching sponsorship donation to $5,000. For many years, the County has contributed $2,500 each <br />to the City of Sebastian and the City of Vero Beach after each of the cities appropriated and paid an <br />equal amount up to $2,500. <br />Funding <br />Funding in the amount of $7,500 is currently budgeted in MSTU Fund/Recreation/Special Events, <br />Account #00410872-041110. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the Board of Commissioners approve funding the fireworks displays for the <br />City of Sebastian in the amount of $2,500 and for the City of Vero Beach in the amount of $5,000. <br />Staff also recommends that each of the cities (Vero Beach and Sebastian) appropriate and pay an <br />equal amount up to $2,500 for Sebastian and up to $5,000 for the City of Vero Beach. <br />21 <br />
