DeBraal, Deputy County Attorney <br />Kate Pingolt Cotner, Assistant County Attorney <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: William K. DeBraal - Deputy County Attorney <br />DATE: February 11, 2019 <br />SUBJECT: Resolution Cancelling Taxes on Property Purchased from Central Groves <br />Corp. for 66th Avenue Widening Project <br />A parcel consisting of 18.59 acres has been purchased by Indian River County from <br />Central Groves Corp. for right-of-way and a stormwater retention pond in connection <br />with the 66th Avenue road widening project; and a resolution is presented for the purpose <br />of earmarking the public use of the property and cancelling any delinquent or current <br />taxes which may exist on the property. <br />FUNDING: <br />There is no cost associated with this item. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Authorize the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners to execute the <br />Resolution to cancel certain taxes upon the property purchased for right-of-way and a <br />stormwater retention pond, and the Clerk to send a certified copy of the Resolution to the <br />Tax Collector and the Property Appraiser so that any delinquent or current taxes can be <br />cancelled. <br />/nhm <br />Attachment: Resolution <br />Attachment to Resolution (Warranty Deed) <br />cc: Carole Jean Jordan - Tax Collector <br />Wesley Davis - Property Appraiser <br />59 <br />
