Board of County Commissioners <br />Meeting Minutes - Final January 22, 2019 <br />5.B. 19-0049 Presentation of Proclamation Designating the Month of February 2019 as a Month <br />of Appreciation for Dr. Stephen Faherty and Mr. Glenn Heran <br />Recommended Action: Read and Present <br />Attachments: Proclamation <br />Chairman Solari read and presented the proclamation to Dr. Stephen Faherty and <br />Mr. Glenn Heran, commending them on their tremendous effort as advocates for the <br />transfer of electric services from the City of Vero Beach to the Florida Power & <br />Light Company (FPL). <br />Dr. Faherty and Mr. Heran thanked the Board for the Proclamation and spoke of <br />their appreciation for the individuals and groups who provided assistance along the <br />way. <br />Each member of the Board, County Administrator Jason Brown, and County <br />Attorney Dylan Reingold spoke on Dr. Faherty and Mr. Heran's complete <br />dedication and persistence to see the transfer through. <br />Read and Presented <br />5.C. 19-0060 Quarterly Recycling Update - January 2019 <br />Recommended Action: No action required - for informational purposes only <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />Recycling Education and Marketing Coordinator Susan Flak, with the assistance of <br />a PowerPoint Presentation, provided the Quarterly Recycling Update. In addition <br />to introducing the upcoming events, she confirmed that the Indian River County <br />School Recycling Program had increased by an additional ten (10) participating <br />schools throughout the County. <br />Commissioner O'Bryan thanked Ms. Flak and Solid Waste Disposal District <br />Managing Director Himanshu Mehta for being present, with recycling containers <br />for water bottles and plastic cups, to promote recycling at the Executive <br />Roundtable's Rail Trail 5K Run/Walk. <br />Presented <br />6.
