Commissioner Macht believed the Board should consider the guidelines set out in his letter to the Historical Society; that it be self-supporting, which would imply that the County lease the building for $1 a year so it would remain a county building. He acknowledged that it would take a lot of work and coordination in order to work with all the organizations who would make up all the occupants of the building to provide the services that are expected, and offered to formally start working on it and move it along. Commissioner Macht also wanted the Historical Society's concurrence that they would be willing to work more or less along those guidelines. ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED by Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously (4- 0, Commissioner Eggert absent) approved the establishment of a committee to restore the old courthouse and appointed Commissioner Macht to serve as chairman.
