Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final March 12, 2019 Commissioner O'Bryan discussed the impact of the red tide on the Tourist Development Tax in the areas of Hotel/Motel revenues and sought information about the increase in Short Term Rentals revenues. Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller Jeffrey Smith acknowledged that the red tide had also impacted the Short Term Rentals revenues, explained where the increase in revenue had come from, and credited Internal Auditor Edward Halsey for making progress with the collection of the Short Term Rentals taxes. A motion was made by Commissioner O'Bryan, seconded by Commissioner Flescher, to accept the Quarterly Tourist Development Tax Report.
