CONSTITUTIONAL OFFICERS and GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES <br />9.A. 19-0152 Indian River County Property Appraiser Wesley Davis: Status Report and <br />Funding Request for Audit <br />Recommended Action: Approve the Request for a Stub Audit. <br />Attachments: Memorandum Wesley Davis, Property Appraiser <br />Draft Engagement letter - Property Appraiser <br />9.B. 19-0221 <br />Property Appraiser Wesley S. Davis provided an update on the tax exemption <br />period, and urged veterans to ensure that they were receiving any tax breaks for <br />which they were eligible. He recalled that there was a period of time between the <br />passing of the former Property Appraiser, David Nolte, in the fall of 2018, and his <br />(Mr. Davis's) appointment to the position on January 7, 2019, during which an audit <br />had not been done. In order to ensure everything was in order for that period, Mr. <br />Davis requested that a Stub Audit be performed by the County's auditor, Rehmann. <br />Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller Jeffrey Smith added that Rehmann would <br />not be performing an operational review; the firm would be taking a financial look <br />at the office for the specified stub period. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner O'Bryan, seconded by Commissioner Flescher, <br />to approve the request of the Indian River County Property Appraiser's Office for <br />additional funding to engage the firm of Rehmann for consulting services for a Stub <br />Audit for the period of October 1, 2018 through January 7, 2019. The motion carried <br />by the following vote: <br />Aye: 5 - Chairman Solari, Vice Chairman Adams, Commissioner Flescher, Commissioner <br />O'Bryan, and Commissioner Zorc <br />Indian River County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller Jeffrey R. <br />Smith: Application for Citizen Member to the Value Adjustment Board <br />Recommended Action: It is recommended the Board review the application and approve the appointment <br />of Mr. Jim Kordiak to fill the vacant Citizen Member position on the Value <br />Adjustment Board <br />Indian River County Florida Page 6 <br />
