Page 5 of 6 <br />Q: What type of turbidity boom will need to be used? <br />A: The floating turbidity barrier type is at the contractor's discretion as necessary to achieve their <br />demolition operation while meeting permit requirements. The Contractor shall be responsible <br />for providing BMP's sufficient for the location and conditions. <br />Q: Does the work area and sea grass area need to be protected by the turbidity booms. <br />A: Yes, the sea grass shall be protected with turbidity barriers as shown on the contract drawings. <br />The work area shall be protected with a floating turbidity barrier in accordance with the permit <br />SAJ-2017-00473. <br />Q: Will be additional park area made available? <br />A: No, the intent of this project was, to have the deployment material be stored on the barge <br />and not in the park area. A bathymetric survey of the channel from the pier south to the <br />Intracoastal Waterway is attached. <br />0: Can the park be used to truck material off site? <br />A: The area available for staging on the east side of the project is delineated in the plans. An <br />approximate 100' x 40' section, sketch attached, of the parking lot on the west side of the <br />bridge will be provided for the Contractor to use. Please be aware that the Contractor will be <br />responsible for restoring the lay down areas to the condition prior to use. <br />Q: Does all debris material need to be deployed to the reef? <br />A: The Contractor shall use all suitable material from the existing bridge components to build an <br />artificial reef located in reef zone 5C, center coordinates provided above.5C. Up to 1000 TN <br />can be deployed at this location. No materials should be tampered with to minimize the <br />amount of suitable material eligible for deployment. <br />Q: What happens if the Army Corps finds the material not suitable during inspection? While it <br />has been selected on established material criteria as outlined in the permits? <br />A: Material staged for placement will be inspected by County staff and the Contractor to confirm <br />it complies with all requirements outlined in the permit prior to any and all AOCE inspections <br />pre -deployment. If any unforeseen conditions arise, they will be addressed at that time. <br />0: Do the piles have stingers? <br />A: The details of the piles are not known. <br />Q: What is the force account used for? <br />A: Force Account Funds can be used by the County staff for unforeseen conditions, expenses or <br />overrun on quantities due to additional work required. Any work proposed to utilize <br />contingency funds must be identified and agreed upon before any work is performed and a <br />Work Change Directive issued prior to any work being performed. <br />Q: Bid Item No2.01 Crane, when will that be used? <br />A: Revised bid sheets will be issued with this Addendum which remove this pay item.
