Idlette, Jr. & Bernice R. Idlette <br />DATE: April 26, 2019 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Public Works is progressing with the Right -of -Way acquisition for the planned road expansion of 58th <br />Avenue (North of South 49th St to CR510) by the Waterway Village Developer. Joe N. Idlette, Jr. and <br />Bernice R. Idlette own a 0.98 acre parcel which is zoned RS -6. To accommodate the future planned <br />improvements on 58th Avenue, the County needs to acquire 0.096 acres of the parcel for right-of-way <br />purposes. <br />The County obtained an appraisal of the property indicating a value $17,373.00. The County offered <br />$18,000.00 to purchase the property which includes compensation for a single oak tree. The Idlettes <br />agreed with the $18,000.00 purchase price, but requested the County would be responsible for the <br />purchase and installation on the remaining property of replacements for the palms, shrubs, crepe myrtle <br />and queen palm trees and groundcover forthe existing vegetation at a cost of $10,000.00. After several <br />months of negotiations all parties agreed on $18,000.00 purchase price and the Idlettes additional <br />request for a total cost of $28,000.00. <br />FUNDING <br />Funding in the amount of $28,000.00 is budgeted and available in Traffic Impact Fees/District II/ROW/5811 <br />Ave, 47th to 53rd St, Acct# 10215241-066120-15013 <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends the Board approve $28,000.00 for the purchase of the 0.096 acres of property located <br />at 4730 581h Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32967, the replacement of vegetation, and authorize the Chairman <br />to execute the purchase agreement on behalf of the Board. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Purchase Agreement <br />APPROVED AGENDA ITEM FOR: May 7 2019 <br />F:\Engineering\STAFF_FILES\Monique Filipiak\PROJECT 58TH AVE (Waterway Village)\JOE IDLETTE\BOCC MEMO\Staff Report.doc <br />
