RESOLUTION NO. 94- 86 <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />h ` FLORIDA, URGING THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY TO TAKE ALL <br />NECESSARY STEPS TO INSURE CONTINUED <br />ACCREDITATION OF VERO BEACH HIGH <br />SCHOOL. <br />WHEREAS, the specter of loss accreditation status by Vero Beach <br />High School by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools now <br />exists; and <br />WHEREAS, the importance of accreditation cannot be over <br />emphasized; and <br />WHEREAS, the loss of accreditation creates an untenable <br />situation with far reaching irrevocable harm to the students and to <br />the general public welfare of Indian River County; and <br />WHEREAS, the concerns of the public about the future status of <br />Vero Beach High School have been made known to the Commissioners <br />of Indian River County, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />that: <br />1. The Board of County Commissioners is deeply concerned <br />over the possible loss of accreditation status. <br />2. The Board of County Commissioners urges the School <br />District of Indian River County to take quick effective action to come <br />into compliance with required standards to retain accreditation by the <br />Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. <br />The resolution was moved to adoption by Commissioner <br />Eggert and the motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />i Biln } , and, upon being put to a vote, the vote was as <br />follows: Chairman John W. Tippin Aye <br />Vice Chairman Kenneth R. Macht Aye <br />Commissioner Richard N. Bird Aye <br />Commissioner Carolyn K. Eggert Aye <br />Commissioner Fran B. Adams Aye <br />The Chairman thereupon declared the resolution duly passed and <br />adopted „this` ' 21 day of June , 1994. <br />`..`. .
