8 / 12494 (reso\erosiondoc) VkDD <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94- 105 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, PETITIONING THE TRUSTEES OF THE <br />STATE OF FLORIDA'S INTERNAL IMPROVEMENT <br />TRUST FUND TO ESTABLISH AN EROSION <br />CONTROL LINE FOR THE PURPOSE OF BEACH <br />RESTORATION WITHIN A PORTION OF CENTRAL <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY. <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has committed to the restoration of its <br />severely eroded beaches; and <br />WHEREAS, the coastal region north of Riomar Point is recognized as an <br />eroded segment of the Indian River County shoreline; and <br />WHEREAS, an erosion control line currently does not exist in Indian <br />River County; and <br />WHEREAS, the County has caused surveys to be made establishing a <br />line prior to the implementation of the beach restoration project pursuant to <br />Chapter 177, Florida Statutes, and approved by the Department of <br />Environmental Protection of the State of Florida, said line to be the basis of <br />the requested erosion control line; and <br />WHEREAS, the petitioner desires that the Board of Trustees of the <br />Internal Improvement Trust Fund carry out the appropriate actions as <br />outlined by Section 161.161, F.S., <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />1. The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County hereby <br />petitions the Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund to <br />establish an erosion control line on an approximately 1.4 -mile long <br />stretch of beach (from Mango Drive south to Riomar Drive) . <br />2. Indian River County hereby consents to the establishment of said <br />erosion control line. <br />The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner Adams <br />and the motion was seconded by Commissioner Eggert and, upon <br />being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: <br />-1- <br />
