January 3, 1995 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission Chambers, <br />1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, January 3, 1995, <br />at 9:00 a.m. Present were John W. Tippin, Chairman; Kenneth R. <br />Macht, Vice Chairman; Fran B. Adams; Richard N. Bird; and Carolyn <br />K. Eggert. Also present were James E. Chandler, County <br />Administrator; Charles P. Vitunac, County Attorney; and P. J. <br />Jones, Deputy Clerk. <br />Chairman Tippin called the meeting to order. <br />Elinor O'Mally of Science of Mind Center gave the Invocation, <br />and Administrator Chandler led the Pledge of Allegiance to the <br />Flag. <br />Chairman Tippin expressed his pleasure at having Commissioner <br />Eggert back from her recent surgery and wanted her to know that the <br />Board had appreciated her critiques by telephone from the hospital <br />while watching the BCC meetings on television. <br />ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN <br />Chairman Tippin opened the floor for nominations for Chairman <br />of the Board of County Commissioners for 1995. Commissioner Bird <br />nominated Commissioner Macht as Chairman for 1995 and Commissioner <br />Adams seconded the nomination. Commissioner Eggert moved the <br />nominations be closed, -Commissioner Bird seconded the motion and <br />the Chairman closed the nominations. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously elected <br />Kenneth R. Macht as Chairman of the Board for 1995. <br />Chairman Macht thanked the Board for their confidence, <br />welcomed Commissioner Eggert back, wished everyone a Happy New <br />Year, and expressed his appreciation for Chairman Tippin's ability <br />to let everyone be heard during 1994 while still preserving the <br />decorum and dignity of the Board proceedings. <br />JANUARY 3, 1995 1 �_ c U Fa r " <br />
