11/7O/f1(ro�o\lnolgov)Vla <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-151 <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, <br />BY AND THROUGH ITS BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS, CREATING AND APPOINTING A <br />SESQUICENTENNIAL COORDINATING COMMITTEE FOR <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY. <br />WHZREAS, during the 1994 session the Florida Legislature enacted Chapter <br />94-152, which established the Florida Sesquicentennial Commission to lead and <br />coordinate the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Florida statehood; and <br />WHEREAS, the Florida Sesquicentennial Celebration has been designed to <br />be a grass-roots celebration and specific Commission powers are delegated to <br />individual counties; and <br />WHEREAS, the Sesquicentennial Coordinating Committee is charged with the <br />primary responsibility of encouraging, sanctioning, and coordinating local <br />Sesquicentennial activities and events; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />1. The Board hereby creates the Indian River County Sesquicentennial <br />Coordinating Committee. <br />2. The Committee shall be charged with planning and organizing of local <br />events; encouraging and helping individuals and private organizations to <br />organize and coordinate their sesquicentennial activities; and gathering <br />and disseminating information to the public about sesquicentennial <br />activities. <br />3.
