DeBraal, Deputy County Attorney <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: The Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Dylan Reingold — County Attorney <br />DATE: May 14, 2019 <br />SUBJECT: Release of Demolition Lien <br />On August 18, 2015 the Board of County Commissioners authorized the <br />recordation of a lien for demolition of nuisance structures on Lot 17, Indian River <br />Twin Estates Subdiviion, Jean's Unit, then owned by Linda Jackson and having <br />a street address of 13185 76th Court; and the lien was subsequently recorded in <br />the Public Records of Indian River County, Florida. <br />The property thereafter became the subject of a tax deed sale, and on December <br />5, 2017 a Tax Deed was issued to Red Bird Investments LLC, the current owner. <br />In March, 2019, Jon Pedersen of Red Bird Investments, LLC requested, through <br />the County Attorney, that the Board consider waiving the accrued interest on the <br />demolition lien which survived the tax deed sale; and on March 26, 2019 the <br />request was presented for Board consideration whereby the Board approved the <br />waiving of the accrued interest so long as the lien for the principal amount of <br />$6,715.40 was paid within 60 days. <br />On May 13, 2019 the County Attorney's Office received via U.S. Mail, the funds <br />in the amount of $6,715.40 representing the payment of the principal amount of <br />the demolition costs.
