Brown, County Administrator <br />THROUGH: <br />FROM: <br />DATE: <br />Tad Stone, Director <br />Department of Emergency Services <br />Erin Baskins, Staff Assistant IV <br />Department of Emergency Services <br />May 21, 2019 <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Property Lease Extension for Temporary Location of Fire <br />Rescue Station #7 (1893 90th Avenue) <br />It is respectfully requested that the information contained herein be given formal consideration by the <br />Emergency Services District Board of Commissioners. <br />DESCRIPTION: <br />On June 23, 2015, Joseph G. Miller and Indian River County entered into a lease agreement for the <br />use of the property located at 1893 90th Avenue, Vero Beach, Florida to serve as a short-term <br />location for a modular Fire Station No. 7. On May 2, 2017, Lessor and Lessee entered into an <br />Amendment to Lease Agreement, reflecting St. Lucie Battery and Tire Company as the Lessor on the <br />Lease Agreement; and the Lease Agreement allows the Lessee to renew the Lease Agreement, at its <br />sole discretion, for three (3) additional one (1) year terms. The Board approved the second year <br />extension on June 19, 2018. Staff is requesting to renew the Lease Agreement for the third one (1) <br />year term, and shall expire on June 23, 2020. <br />FUNDING: <br />Funding for the property lease for Fire Rescue Station #7 are available and budgeted in the <br />Emergency Services District's Rent -Land account.
