Szpyrka, P.E. <br />Public Works Director <br />Kendra Cope, M.S. <br />Coastal Resources Coordinator <br />Release of Retainage - Work Order No. 9 Morgan & Eklund, Inc. <br />Legal Descriptions and Sketches for Beach Construction Easements <br />July 1, 2019 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On October 4, 2016, the Board approved a contract with Morgan and Eklund, Inc. (M&E) for <br />Professional Land Surveying and Mapping Services for a two-year term. The Board amended the <br />Contract on October 18, 2016. M&E is the selected County Consultant for professional <br />onshore/offshore hydrographic surveying services. <br />On January 22, 2019, the Board approved Work Order No. 9, in the amount of $68,022.50, for <br />services related to preparing legal descriptions and sketches for the approximate 338 parcels <br />adjoining the Sector 3, 5, and 7 ECL/Mean High Water line. These legal descriptions and sketches <br />were attached to the Construction Easement packages mailed to beachfront property owners <br />within the three project areas. <br />To date all work is 100% complete. The total amount of retainage withheld under Work Order <br />No. 9, is $6,681.51. <br />FUNDING <br />Local funding of Beach Restoration includes a portion of Local Option Tourist Tax. Funding in the <br />amount of $6,681.51 is budgeted and available. Release of retainage will be provided from <br />Account No. 128-206000-17001. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends the Board approve the release of all withheld retainage under Work Order <br />No.9 in the amount of $6,681.51. <br />ATTACHMENT <br />The invoice is available for review in the Public Work Department <br />APPROVED AGENDA ITEM FOR: JULY 9, 2019 <br />49 <br />
