Board of County Commissioners <br />Meeting Minutes - Final June 4, 2019 <br />Recommended Action: <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners: 1. Approve the <br />proposed resolution accepting the list of eight (8) County owned surplus <br />properties identified appropriate for the provision of affordable housing. 2. <br />Donate the three (3) requested lots to EDHAP, Inc., authorize the Chairman to <br />execute the proposed agreement for donating the three (3) lots to EDHAP, Inc. <br />and direct the County Attorney's Office to prepare deed and restrictions and <br />transfer the three (3) lots to EDHAP, Inc. with the proposed deed restrictions. <br />3. In his PowerPoint Presentation, he provided <br />background and detailed the eight (8) County -owned properties that might be <br />appropriate for affordable housing. Director Boling advised that pursuant to <br />the Board's direction, staff had reached out to the non-profit organizations to <br />ascertain their interest in any of the surplus lots. He continued that Every <br />Dream Has A Price (EDHAP) had submitted a request for three (3) of the lots to <br />be donated to them for the construction of affordable housing rental units. <br />The Chairman opened the Public Hearing. <br />Jens Tripson, 2525 14th Street, representing EDHAP, thanked the Board for <br />donating the surplus property. <br />There were no additional speakers; the Chairman closed the Public Hearing. <br />Chairman Solari acknowledged the work of EDHAP in providing affordable <br />housing. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner O'Bryan, seconded by Commissioner <br />Flescher, to approve staff's recommendation and Resolution 2019-040, approving <br />the list of County owned properties appropriate for the provision of affordable <br />housing and providing for the disposition of those properties.
