RESOLUTION NO. 2019- 065 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br /> FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS FOR INDIAN RIVER COUNTY TO <br /> PARTICIPATE IN A JOINT MEETING WITH THE ST. <br /> LUCIE COUNTY COMMISSION AND MARTIN COUNTY <br /> COMMISSION TO DISCUSS AND PLAN MATTERS OF <br /> MUTUAL INTEREST; AND PROVIDING FOR AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners for Indian River County desires to <br /> participate in a joint meeting with the Board of County Commissioners for St. Lucie County and <br /> the Board of County Commissioners for Martin County to discuss legislative priorities that we <br /> share prior to the State of Florida's 2020 legislative session; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 125.001, Florida Statutes, authorizes county boards to meet and <br /> discuss matters of mutual interest with one or more adjacent counties or municipalities; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 125.001, Florida Statutes, further states that such meetings may be <br /> held at any appropriate public place within the jurisdiction of any participating county or <br /> municipality, and requires that due public notice be provided within the jurisdiction of all <br /> participating municipalities and counties; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 125.001, Florida Statutes, further requires that the governing body <br /> of a county or municipality must first adopt a resolution authorizing participation in the joint <br /> meeting, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS THAT: <br /> Section 1. The above "WHEREAS" clauses are true and correct, and hereby adopted as <br /> findings of this Board. <br /> Section 2. Pursuant to Section 125.001, Florida Statutes, the Board of County <br /> Commissioners is hereby authorized to participate in a joint meeting with the St. Lucie County <br /> Commissioners and Martin County Commissioners on October 3, 2019, which will be properly <br /> noticed within the jurisdiction of all participating counties. <br /> Section 3. Notice of this meeting shall be duly advertised and official minutes shall be <br /> taken. <br /> Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. <br /> The foregoing resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner 0'Bryan <br /> and seconded by Commissioner Adams , and, upon being put to a vote, the vote was as <br /> follows: <br />
