76 <br />PROCLAMATION <br />HONORING RICHARD STRICKLAND ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY SERVICES / FIRE RESCUE DIVISION <br />WHEREAS, Richard Strickland retired from the Indian River County Department of Emergency <br />Services Fire Rescue Division effective June 30, 2019; and <br />WHEREAS, Richard began his career with Indian River County on September 9, 1994 as a <br />Paramedic gaining the Paramedic level II classification by June 26, 1998; and, <br />WHEREAS, Richard pursued and achieved his State Firefighter Certification on July 12, 2000 and <br />soon after was promoted to Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Lieutenant on October 1, 2000; and, <br />WHEREAS, upon consolidation of the Indian River County Emergency Medical Services and Fire <br />Rescue Departments, in 2006, he became one of the first to obtain the status of dual certified Solo <br />Firefighter Medic; and, <br />WHEREAS, during his twenty -five-year career he served his County and the Public with distinction <br />and selflessness thus being greatly admired by his co-workers, his employer and the citizens of Indian <br />River County. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF• INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board applauds <br />Richard Strickland's efforts on behalf of the County, and the Board wishes to express their <br />appreciation for the exemplary service he has given to Indian River County for the last twenty-five <br />years; and <br />BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the Board of County Commissioners and staff extend <br />heartfelt wishes for success in his future endeavors! <br />Adopted this 2nd day of July, 2019. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Bob Solari, Chairman <br />4 <br />
