1i <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Chairman Macht being absent) amended the Elections <br />Budget to include the reimbursements set forth in <br />the above Memorandum, as recommended by staff. <br />R. Old Courthouse Renovation Grant/Emergency Waiver of RFP for <br />Engineers for Study Required for Grant Application <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated February 3, 1995: <br />Date: February 3, 1995 <br />To: Honorable Board of County Commissioners <br />Thsu: James E. "Sonny" Dean, Director <br />Department of General Services <br />Terry O'Brien cv <br />Assistant County Attorney <br />Subj: Old Courthouse Renovation Grant <br />Due to the time constraints, associated with submittal of a grant application for <br />the subject project, it will be impossible to meet the requirements of the <br />Consultants' Competitive Negotiation Act (CCNA). <br />Section 287.055 of the Florida Statues provides for the Board of County <br />Commissioners to declare an emergency situation in certain cases which will allow <br />the selection process for a consultant to be shortened. <br />Based on the March 15, 1995 deadline for a grant application submittal, staff <br />recommends action by the Board to declare this project an emergency and authorize <br />selection of a consultant to proceed. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Chairman Macht being absent) declared the Old <br />Courthouse Renovation Grant to be an emergency <br />project pursuant to Section 287.055, Florida <br />Statutes, and authorized staff to proceed with the <br />selection of a consultant, as recommended by staff. <br />FEBRUARY 7, 1995 26 <br />ma 94 PA fu- <br />
