We are uniquely positioned to build the community and promote economic growth through the promotion of art and culture. The Cultural Council is the only local organization providing this comprehensive yet targeted service for our more than 140,000 residents and 600,000 visitors each year. Our arts and culture sector remains a key driver for local economic growth — a $24 million dollar industry, generating $3 million in local and state government revenue. Arts and culture promotion reinforces the County's reputation as a prime destination for cultural tourists and potential new residents. Our successful and cost-effective promotional programs aimed at the cultural tourist include print publications, broadcast marketing, Web and social media outreach and information distribution at our main office and at local festivals. We also sponsor a full calendar of events including the Celebrate the Arts Festival, the annual Laurel Awards Program, the Summerfest Chamber Orchestra Concert and an annual Meet the Media at breakfast, all designed to showcase our vibrant art culture.
