The main sources will be increased marketing and advertising of venue rental options and special event promotions that are a critical source of revenue for Vero Heritage. This grant will also be used to better market and enhance the presence of the Indian River Citrus Museum. This grant also covers a portion of the salary for operations staff, including a part-time staff member who works with visitors at the museum and with those utilizing the building for community events. These requests fall under Section (5)(aa)1 in which revenues may be used to extend, enlarge, remodel, repair, improve, maintain, operate or promote museums that are operated by a non-profit organization open to the public. Summary Keport Amount requested from Indian River County for 2019/2020: $24,000.00 Total Proposed Program budget for 2019/2020: $207,700.00 Percent of total Program budget: 8.7% Current Funding (2018/2019) $20,000.00 Dollar increase / (decrease) in request: $4,000.00 Percent increase / decrease in request: 20% If request increased 5% or more bnetly explain wny: Vero Heritage seeks to increase eco/heritage tourism to not only our location but to Indian River County as a whole. The increase in funding request is to establish "The Citrus Label Tour of Indian River County" (modeled after what has been successfully done in Polk and Manatee Counties). This art in public places heritage tour explores the historic marketing portion of citrus though artistic labels that once adorned the wooden shipping crates. Vero Heritage will host the kick off and coordinate this project which after the grant period, will become a partnership between Vero Heritage, Inc, the Citrus Hall of Fame, Indian River Historical Society, local growers and local business sponsors.
