FDOT PUBLIC INFORMATION WORKSHOP - SR -60 PROPOSED <br />Chairman Macht requested this item be added to the Agenda in <br />order to inform the Board and the public of the following notice <br />received from FDOT: <br />PUBLIC INFORMATION WORKSHOP <br />The Florida Department of Transportation will conduct a public information workshop on the <br />proposed improvement to SR 60 in Osceola County and Indian River County. The workshop will <br />be held on Thursday, March 9, 1995 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at the Holiday Inn Countryside, <br />8797 20th Street, Vero Beach, Florida 32966. <br />The proposed improvements consists of widening State Road 60 (SR 60) from a two-lane undivided <br />arterial to a multi -lane divided (four -lane) highway. The project, which basically runs west to east, <br />begins approximately 91.44 m (300 ft) east of SR 15/US 441 in Yeehaw Junction in Osceola County <br />and ends at SR 9 (I-95) west of Vero Beach in Indian River County, for a total project length of <br />approximately 39.685 km (24.66 mi). The project includes five bridges: at MP 4.82 over the Padgett <br />Branch Marsh, at MP 10.01 at a water control structure, at MP 10.55 at a water control structure, <br />at MP 12.92 over the C-52 Canal, and the Bridge over the Turnpike. <br />Public Involvement will play an integral role throughout the study. The public information workshop <br />will be held to receive comments from the general public as well as to inform the public of the <br />proposed project. Aerial maps will be on display and Department representatives and their <br />consultants will be on hand during the workshop hours to informally discuss the project and to <br />answer questions. Residents are encouraged to come in and review this transportation improvement <br />proposal.
