Donation.of a Bicycle Repair Stand for the Trans -Florida <br />Central Railroad Trail <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Vero Cycling Inc. is 501(c)(4), club based in Indian River County. Vero Cycling Inc. stated <br />purpose is to promote cycling and encourage cyclists of all levels, advocate for cycling related <br />interests, promote safe cycling and to encourage respect among cyclists and non -cyclists. The club <br />approached the Parks and Conservation Resources Director with the intent of donating and <br />installing a bicycle repair stand just west of the entrance to Fran B. Adams Park along the Trans <br />Florida Railroad Trail. Vero Cycling Inc. will be responsible for the maintenance and repairs to the <br />repair stand and pump for the lifecycle of the equipment. The Parks and Conservation Resources <br />Division will install a concrete pad for the equipment base. <br />The Indian River County residents and visiting cyclist who enjoy the Trans -Florida Central <br />Railroad Trail will benefit from having a repair station along the trail. <br />FUNDING: <br />Vero Cycling Inc. will be donating the bicycle repair station, pump and tools and installing the <br />station at their expense. The retail value of the repair station, pump and tools is approximately <br />$1900. Funding for the concrete slab will come from the existing Parks budget Acct # 00121072- <br />034660, Maintenance — Structures except Buildings in the approximate amount of $300. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff respectfully recommends the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners accept the <br />agreement with Vero Cycling Inc. and authorize the chairman to execute the same. <br />ATTACHMENT: <br />Bicycle Repair Station Installation Agreement <br />DISTRIBUTION: <br />Vero Cycling Inc. <br />AGENDA ITEM FOR SEPTEMBER 10, 2019 <br />120 <br />
