Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final October 8, 2019 <br />1. ADDITIONS/DELETIONS TO THE AGENDA / EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Flescher, seconded by Vice Chairman Adams, <br />to approve the Agenda as presented. PROCLAMATIONS and PRESENTATIONS <br />5.A. 19-0820 Proclamation Honoring National Domestic Violence Awareness Month <br />Recommended Action: Read and Present <br />Attachments: Proclamation <br />Commissioner Zorc read and presented the Proclamation to Thomas Bakkedahl, <br />who was present with Major Eric Flowers, Gregory John Burke and Linda <br />Hengerer, all members of the Safe Space, Inc. Board of Directors. He explained <br />that Safe Space began assisting domestic violence victims in Indian River County <br />40 years ago, and they have since added St. Lucie County and Martin County to the <br />area they serve. Mr. Bakkedahl provided the statistics of reported domestic <br />violence cases, and told of the resources Safe Space provides to the crime victims <br />and their children.
