ROOK. 94 NVL 49 <br />ANALYSIS <br />The project has been completed. All Indian River County <br />requirements have been met, and final certification is being <br />submitted to the DEP for clearance. Change Order No. 1 (attached) <br />reduced the cost by $347.50 (labor), resulting in a final pay <br />request of $11,816.69. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The Department of Utility Services recommends approval of Change <br />Order No. 1 and approval of the payment request as payment in full <br />for services rendered. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously approved <br />Change Order No. 1 and approved the final pay <br />request of Driveways, Inc., as recommended by staff. <br />CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE <br />OF THE CLERK*TO THE BOARD <br />LEGAL ADVERTISING DISCUSSION <br />Chairman Macht opened a discussion regarding the costs of <br />legal advertising and advised that the latest Legislative Bulletin <br />has an article on the second page regarding the matter. The Press - <br />Journal has advised that their price for legal advertising is <br />increasing from $7.50 to $12.40, which is nearly double. He is <br />requesting that legal staff review the Legislative Bulletin article <br />and advise whether the Board might wish to support the action. <br />Director Dean stated that the contract with the Press -Journal <br />expires on March 1, 1995 and they have increased their rates by <br />43%, effective March 1. He volunteered to speak with Daryl Hicks <br />at the Press -Journal and try to renegotiate the charges. <br />Chairman Macht also advised that the Tax Collector had <br />previously contacted the Press -Journal and they gave him assurance <br />of a much more modest increase. He asked that Director Dean also <br />speak with the Tax Collector regarding his negotiations with the <br />Press -Journal. <br />FEBRUARY 28, 1995 74 <br />
